Raising a glass to Cayman Cocktail Week

Raising a glass to Cayman Cocktail Week

After a long week at work, there’s nothing better than catching up with your favorite people over some delicious drinks. With that in mind, here at Team Taste, we’re getting very excited for Cayman Cocktail Week, which (thankfully!) starts tonight!

Cayman Cocktail Week is a vibrant celebration of Cayman’s cocktail scene, playing host to an abundance of events and masterclasses, allowing you to taste your way around Cayman’s best bars. To ensure you make the most out of Cayman Cocktail Week, we’ve compiled a shortlist of what you can drink, when and where. You can buy us a drink later.

First stop – head on down to the Margarita Pop-Up at The Westin from 5pm- 7pm tonight, Friday 20 October. The expert mixologists at The Westin’s lobby bar will teach you how to make the perfect Patron margarita from only CI$5, before you sip it at sunset.

After you’ve enjoyed your sundowners, don your best bow-ties and pearls for some flapper fun at the official Cayman Cocktail Week opening party, ‘Gatsby’, held at The Backroom. Get ready for live jazz, a 1920s style vibe and speakeasy style cocktails from 8pm.

If you’re feeling worst for wear following Friday night, pop into to Craft on Saturday morning, October 21st for the hair of the dog by making your own Caesar or Bloody Mary. Get the party started again from 11am.

If gin’s more your thing, make sure you swing by the Tanqueray Green Room Pop Up at The King’s Head, open from 5pm on Saturday evening. The Green Room will feature a range of Tanqueray creations, a gin-masterclasses from cocktail-guru Simon Crompton and a singalong soul vibe all night long.

Nothing says Sunday quite like a good brunch. Karoo’s Bulleit BBQ Brunch is offering thirsty brunch-goers an unlimited BBQ, bubbles and beer, as well as cocktails from their Bulleit Bourbon Bar, kicking off at 11:30am.

Watch the best bartenders on island compete for a chance to represent Cayman. The Ritz-Carlton is hosting the Appleton Cocktail Competition as part of the Cayman Culinary Awards of Excellence from 2:30pm – 4pm on Wednesday, October 25. The winning mixologist will head to the States to represent Cayman at the annual USA Culinary Competition.

Pulp Fiction. Reservoir Dogs. Kill Bill. Everybody stay cool and dress up as your favourite Tarantino character on Wednesday, October 25 for Agua’s Quentin Tarantino themed 5-course cocktail dinner from 7pm to 11pm.

If you’re wanting more (we don’t blame you!), Craft’s Cocktail Happy Hour, from 4pm to 7pm, and Late Night at Backroom, from 8pm to 2am, will take place all through cocktail week, so there will always be something for you to enjoy. Check out the official Cayman Cocktail Week 2017 website here for the full list of events. Cheers!
